Chris Cox sent this set of song lyrics in with the comment “Ziggy wrote it.”
“Pleasured Pain”
Barbed wire wrapped around my soul
Cuts so deep
Pain so sweet.
Biting deeper the more I struggle.
It’s a game
A game of pain
And pleasure.
Please untangle me.
Let me bleed to death
It’s the merciful way
The glorious way.
It’s your game
Your game of pain.
And pleasure.
You keep changing the rules
Making me guess
I’m hot
I’m cold
I’m your damaged mess
Please untangle me.
Let me bleed to death
It’s the kindest way
The kindest way.
But we don’t do kind, do we?
We just do pain.
And pleasure.
And pain.
And pleasure.
And pain.
And pleasure.

Oh yes, that is so very Ziggy!
Thanks, Lenalena!
AMAZING!!!!!
thank you, Chris!
I’m your damaged mess
For some reason that line hits me especially hard, but this whole thing is gorgeous. I can heard it in my head so clearly in several different styles, with a punk edge and speed, or NIN circa Downward Spiral, or maybe, appropriately, a little bit like Adam Lambert. I could even imagine Tori Amos running with this.
thanks, sanders! I hear it with a few different styles, too. Just wish I had the skills to score it.
+1. The whole song is perfect and sounds just like Ziggy. But that line…
I could totally see Ziggy writing that. And I also love the “damaged mess” line.
Thanks, Amber!
It’s perfect. And yeah, very much like the stuff he fills his notebook with!
